Alla vi barn i bullerbyn (1986)

The heat has arrived in Sweden and the nights are getting longer and brighter. The maypole is dressed and raised; we wear crowns of wildflowers in the hair and eat strawberries. We dance around the pole, listen to traditional music and sing songs such as “Små grodorna”. The year’s first potatoes, soused herring and pickled herring, chives, sour cream, beer and snaps are waiting on the tables. We can now sing our Swedish snapsvisor until the sun goes down… Glad Midsommar!
